1. What is the JONUM regulation?

The JONUM regulation is an experimental, innovative, and world-first French legal framework designed to govern games whose main rewards consist of Monetizable Digital Objects (ONUM), such as Sorare collectible cards.

France becomes the first country in the world to offer a clear legal framework to companies in this sector, while ensuring strong player protection.

 

  1. Which Sorare competitions are affected by the JONUM regulation (the "JONUM Competitions")?

The JONUM regulation applies to any Sorare competition that offers, as a main reward, monetizable digital objects (including collectible cards of Limited, Rare, Super Rare, or Unique rarity) and/or, as a secondary reward, cryptocurrencies (Ether or SOL) or other physical rewards (match tickets, jerseys, etc.) (the "JONUM Competitions").

For example, JONUM Competitions include: leaderboard competitions in Sorare Pro, and the final stages of the Sorare Set or Quick Play game modes offering cryptocurrency rewards.

 

  1. As a manager not playing from France, am I concerned by the JONUM regulation?

No. Only managers located in France are concerned by the JONUM regulation. If you are not located in France: none of the JONUM-related announcements concern you.
